Comfortable Efficiency For All Cyclists.

My Promise

Whether you ride for pleasure, competition, or as part of your job, your body and bike need to work in unison for the best experience.  EVERY rider, at any age or experience level, can benefit from a correct fitting.

I strive to optimize these outcomes for you:

Your safety: Above everything else, a good fit will reduce the chances of injury, re-injury, and accidents caused by overextending yourself.

Your comfort: Why ride a bike if it's going to be painful?  "No pain, no gain" usually makes no sense.  And, if you're not comfortable, you're less likely to continue cycling.

Your goals: Weight loss?  Rehab from an injury?  Competition performance?  Improved energy and stamina?  Returning to cycling after a long absence?  The right fit can fast-track your achievement.

What happens during a fitting?

Interview: I start by getting to know your cycling experience, injury history, mobility, and, most importantly, your goals as a cyclist.  We'll discuss safety needs, your strengths and improvement areas as a cyclist, and how cycling fits into your overall lifestyle.  An excellent fit should address what you want, what your body needs, and your enjoyment.

Ride analysis: Hop on your bike and I'll visually examine your biomechanics, focusing on the positions of your back, shoulders, wrists, legs, and feet.  How do your feet and cleats hit the pedal?  How are you positioned on the saddle?  Are your hands and shoulder in the best places to avoid strain?  Additionally, proper analysis of flexion, extension, and muscle and joint tension while riding are critical for an excellent fit.

Physical ability and dimension assessment: How flexible are you?  How strong are you?  What are the dimensions of your legs, arms, hands, and feet?  Even body weight, age, and gender factor into a correct fitting.

Equipment fitting: Handlebar position, type of saddle and position, footbeds, and overall bike dimensions are adjusted for you.  Shoes, cleat position, and even helmet fitness are considered.  We'll discuss our findings and adjust your bike accordingly.

Be sure to bring your bike, any additional saddles, jersey, shorts, shoes and cleats, helmet, and any other gear you intend to wear while cycling!
